Youth Clubs

We offer a range of activities and programmes for young people. All our leaders and helpers are subject to references, DBS checks and undergo regular training in Safeguarding. Our programme of youth and children’s work runs on weekdays and weekends.

7Up

7 Up

7up is a fun and friendly group for children in school years 4, 5, and 6, meeting on Friday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15pm.

A typical evening includes a lively mix of games, a Bible story, quizzes or DVDs, creative craft activities, and refreshments - often finishing with a final game if there’s time!

A small weekly subscription of £2 helps cover the cost of refreshments and craft materials.

Ultim8

ULTIM8

Ultim8 is an informal Friday evening group for 11–16 year olds, meeting from 8:00 to 9:30pm.

It offers a safe and welcoming space to spend time with friends, enjoy activities such as board games, pool, air hockey, and table tennis, or get involved in cooking and craft activities. Each week also includes a time for reflection and discussion around Christian values.

Drinks and savoury, sugar-free snacks are provided, and a weekly subscription of £2 helps cover the cost of refreshments and materials.

Sundays

There’s something for all ages in our Sunday children and young people’s work.

On a typical Sunday morning, children can enjoy active games, videos, Bible stories, crafts, sensory play, and construction activities such as Lego. A soft space with toys is available for babies and toddlers.

If you would like to find out more about any of our youth and children’s activities, we’d be very happy to hear from you.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival, and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of songs and hymns, prayers, Bible reading and a sermon. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

After the service, we serve tea, coffee, squash and biscuits in the church hall. It is a great way to meet people or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

What about my kids?

At the moment, we are developing our children, youth and families work. We have strong midweek groups for children and young people, and are working towards plans and events to grow and develop our Sunday ministry.

We do have a small group that goes out every week.

The first part of our service is focused on all ages.

Leadership

MINISTER: Matt Powell
MINISTER: Matt Powell
Matt joined us here at Christ Church Baptist in October 2025. Matt comes with his wife Tash, and they have two grown up children living in Brentford and Southampton. Matt has been a Baptist minister for 25 years and is passionate about seeing the church being a place for all people to be welcomed, loved and supported; with a passion to share God's amazing love and grace to all those in the community.

In his spare time Matt loves to watch Southend United his football team, enjoys walking and loves cakes and so is looking forward to tasting the wonders of Kings Langley's baking both in the church and in the local coffee shops.

You can contact Matt on 07312 074814
or at mattpowell-minister@christchurchbaptist.co.uk

We hope that whoever you are, you will feel at home at our church.
